In the Second Half, As the last Don of the Philadelphia mob, Ralph Natale, is the first-ever mob boss to turn state’s evidence, providing an insider’s perspective on the mafia. His biographer, Dan Pearson, joins him to detail Natale’s reign atop the Philadelphia and New Jersey criminal underworlds.

in the opening he speaks of when he was in jail in 1982 the feds offered him freedom if he testified against angelo Bruno…. mr Bruno was brutally killed in 1980. doesn’t make sense!

mr natale’s opinion of himself is much higher than that of his constituents. first of all he was convicted in 79 of cocaine charges. well angelo Bruno had a no DRUG policy. so there for his respect for angelo Bruno is bs if he was in the drug business! several years after angelo Bruno’s death I did business with his son Michael. I had a roach problem and he owned globe exterminating. Michael and I had a phone friendship for 18 years… to a point when my yearly check wasn’t listed and I said it cleared , I heard him tell his accountant that if I said it cleared there was no need for a copy to be sent. now the one thing he got right was that gooney walsh , and joe crosley idolized and john mc collough. with the exception of mr natales dislike for joe merlino, nothing can really be verified. and the rumor has it, in jail with joe merlino, joey set ralph up as boss, because he was smart enough to realize the feds go after the boss. so let ralph take the fall. I enjoyed the show but being from philly in the time and hearing a lot 3rd hand in restaurants and bars I can only say the author may have exaggerated his prominence.

I did a little research, at no time under oath did ralph natale testify that he was inducted into the mafia by angelo Bruno or carlo Gambino or any Gambino associate. he said joey merlino inducted him !now this was under oath where if he lied his sweet heart deal with the feds would be canceled. the show was enjoyable , but I hope no one buys his book or goes to see the movie if it becomes a movie. unless you like fiction!
